Have you ever or do you know anyone who gets injections into the eyeball?

Asked by Aster (20028points) April 8th, 2016

A friend of ours called. She has the wet version of macular degeneration and she goes in and the doctor sticks a needle directly into her eyeball once a month. I think, but am not sure, I’d rather have MD. Have you heard of this or had it done? Does it work?

My mother has it done regularly to retard the ongoing development of her MD. It seems to help.

My grandmother had the shots and it seemed to help her too.

I have to get this done in about another 10 days

Thanks. I’m a bit terrified over the prospect but determined to get it done if it will help improve my situation.

I wonder how many injections stop or cure MD?
