Why do severely rational people feel it is ok to step on other peoples perspectives of life?

My phone just erased the details by accident, and I’m not retyping it all.

Because we’re right, and you’re wrong.

I don’t think they do, generally speaking, but if a question is asked, dissenting opinions are fair game.

By the way, your English has magically improved. Good job!

If you’re talking about here, on Fluther, it’s because everyone here can give their opinion.. that’s the point of the community. Otherwise it would be a facist website and, well, I don’t think the sane people here would be interested in being part of a facist community.

Plus, you know America and that whole silly “freedom of speech” concept.

So this means you are seeking only
irrational answers?

I like to think of myself as a rational person, and I’ll admit that I’ve probably stepped on and crushed a few perspectives, delusions and romances in my day. Though, in my defense, I didn’t do this until 1.) said things were threatening to seriously harm the person that cradled them or 2.) they started to have negative consequences in my life. It’s alright to have a bit of irrationality in your life, but when it starts bleeding over to other people and hurting them, it’s gotta stop.

Without the details, it is hard to respond to this. It’s a generalization. i don’t think this always happens. It is easy enough to avoid. Keep your perspective to yourself. That way others can’t step on it.

Edit: never mind. You looked like the guy with the quote-poorly working-unquote translator. My bad. :)

Rational does not always mean open-minded.

Ultimately, you have just as much a chance of being right as anyone else does. If that’s the way you really believe then keep on believing that. You just need to be ready to take the assault that comes with it.
