Is there a drag and drop software to create apps for cell phones and computers?

Asked by antimatter (4429points) April 18th, 2016

It’s based on a question that I asked about basic programming. I got a real cool app in mind but have absolutely no idea how to write it or where to begin. I am too scared to tell anybody about my app that I have in mind because I know someone will steal my idea. It happened to me before and the a-hole made a fortune from my idea. Please keep in mind I don’t know anything about programming or writing programs or apps. The closest I got to programming was writing twinkle little star in DOS back in the 90’s with help from a book.

No there is not but for android the tools are free and there is a good development environment. You can get it from google code. It’s java based which is nice since you don’t have to mess with pointers and crap. IOS you have to pay and while there are some good tools you will be using objective C which can get messy but is still fun. If you do a windows app Python is by far the easiest. If you don’t want to give your idea up then either learn to program, find someone you trust or speak to a lawyer. I can say though that good mobile app programers are few and there are millions of hacks. I’m a below average hack so be prepared to pay someone well to do it for you.

A friend of mine works for a company called Xamarin who I think makes something like this? Apologies if I’m wrong.

Read up about non-disclosure agreements. Fully document your idea, then shop it to some developers with the NDA in effect.
