Not in those words. Phrases like that seem to spring from people who claim to be observers of the zeitgeist and need to meet a deadline for content.

@zenvelo What? I have literally never heard of anyone using the phrase “Netflix and chill” and making any reference to observing the zeitgeist at the same time.

Honestly, its just a humorous double entendre / meme that circled its way around the internet

@NerdyKeith I didn’t say anyone used the two phrases at the same time. I was attempting to demonstrate that phrases like that seem to come from bloggers on sites like medium that require hipster inspired content and observations, that the writers would never use that phrase because they are “above” that sort of thing, but being wryly observational at the same time.

@zenvelo Oh ok, I get you now.

Never heard that..

No but the link was more boring than humorous. Contrived and forced.

@Jak Well it is Buzz Feed, so its to be expected. The College Humour video was even more cheesy, this was a minor improvement.

It’s the modern day phrase of teenagers saying “my parents aren’t home, do you want to come to my place and watch movies?” Or “do you want to drive to the top of that hill and look at the stars”... Aka lets fool around sexually.

Now that social media got ahold of the humorous disconnect elders have with “Netflix and chill” I’m sure there is a new phrase teenagers are using to say “let’s hang out (wink, wink)”
