I only discovered Victoria Wood in the past few years, and now she’s gone from us. I feel cheated.
The woman made me laugh. Literally, out loud. She had such a contagious joy and humor it has to be a mistake that she didn’t outlive me.
They may be bittersweet now, but please share any ways that Victoria Wood brought humor and joy into your life.

Me, too, @CWOTUS. I don’t know how she didn’t ‘jump the pond’ decades ago. It’s the palpable fun she has in entertaining that makes made her such a joy.
Thanks, that was new to me, and hilarious.
She reminds me a lot of Fascinating Aida, who seem also not to have appeared on American television shows, but fortunately there’s YouTube.

I heard the Ballad of Barry and Freda on the radio as a tribute. Hilarious. To be honest I wish I’d paid more attention to her because I hadn’t realised how funny she was until now.

I think that’s the same link I had, @Stinley. That’s okay with me, though. I think it’s one of the funniest bits I’ve ever seen. As near as I’ve seen, though, the version I posted was Victoria at her upmost, top form. The look, the timing, the expression…it’s just nearly perfect to me.
