Do you mourn the loss of a video game character when one dies?

I have mourned the loss of a game character as if it was a real person. How about you? Humor and insight welcome.

Everyone mourned Aerith/Aeris. My brother named his daughter after her.

I’ve still never gotten over the first time Frogger didn’t make it across the road!
I’ve never crossed a street on foot since.

I cried when I saw this. I couldn’t believe he had a life. Also I was at world 8

Aeris comes to mind first. ( I liked Yuffie more, though)
Oh, and Emma Emmerich, Otakon’s step sister from Metal Gear Solid 2.
She was stabbed in her intestines by a vampire.

Seriously though, I’ve buried enough family members that I sometimes seriously wonder if I still have the ability to grieve.
