Someone I know told me his coworker brought in some homemade crackers. I think the recipe was a Martha Stewart recipe. Supposedly they were very good. More effort than buying them in the store, of course, but very tasty.

Crackers like flat bread? (In the UK, “crisps” are what Americans call potato chips).
I have never tried it but that sounds like a great idea, I usually have crackers in the cupboard.
This story makes it sound easy and there are a few recipes linked at the bottom.
I’ve made potato chips/crisps long ago, but I don’t deep fry anything know. As I write this I realized that baked chips are probably a thing. I’ve had bake kale chips. They were not great.
Not really crisps the way you know it, but my mom once tried a different French fries recipe. Instead of cutting potatoes into sticks, she cut them as thinly as possible, and made sure they shaped like potatoes crisps. The “crisps” were surprisingly crunchy. I have been asking her to buy more potatoes since.
I have tried making uk style crisps. They were surprisingly disgusting. Too thick to be crispy and they absorbed too much of the fat. Shop bought ever since. I am known for my kitchen disasters though
I’ve considered it, but the time and work involved just don’t seem worth it. Some of the store-bought are really good, and they’re meant to last a while even after open. I would think keeping homemade crackers crisp would be a challenge.
That said, I still make my own noodles for chicken and noodles, so never say never.
I’ve never made my own crackers. It’s interesting how some food items are almost exclusively purchased as packaged goods. I don’t think I’ve ever had a homemade cracker. I make my own biscotti, cakes, and cookies, from scratch, but never crackers, and brownies I always buy a mix.
