God only knows. What does @Rarebear think?
They’ll film a reality show in the white house if he gets his way.
Here’s what won’t happen:.
He won’t build a wall
He won’t deport Mexicans.
He won’t bring jobs back to the US.
He won’t kill the families of terrorists.
He won’t repeal ObamaCare – although he will try to change the name to TrumpCare.
He won’t ____ (insert any of the numerous things he said to pander to the lowest common denominator)
Here’s what will happen:
The rest of the world will think Americans are dumber than they appear.
He will blame everything that happens on someone else.
His businesses will increase in value.
He will piss off heads of state in every country that as dealing with the US.
The economy will remain unchanged.
He will be impeached in 18 months for gross incompetence.
Well lately the cat has escaped the bag, and we’ve been told that all the bluster and idiotic shenanigans- all of it has been a bluff, and that the Donald will in reality be as dull and disappointing as the rest of our Presidents.
I like @LuckyGuy‘s answer, although I do not think he will be impeached.
@LeavesNoTrace Your link is blocked from my current computer—I will look at it later.
Oh God! My eye!!
1) All women under the age of 40 would be required to get breast augmentation of some kind, facial reconstruction, and to always wear see-through clothes, or be arrested.
2) All women over 40 shall be killed for being useless.
3) All women will be quarantined during their menstrual cycle, lest the very thought of it makes men frow up or go bald.
4) We will be required to give 80% of our earnings as tithes to the Trump Holy Plaza.
I think he’d be killed before he’d be impeached, and I think the SS would accidentally look the other way.
Closer to this than we’ve ever been before.
Well, his diplomatic relations with other countries will start WWlll. Much worse than “7–11.” lol
Yeah, lets build the great wall of Mexico and ban all Muslims from entering the country. I can’t even begin to address his issues with women, planned parenthood, etc. I need to watch my blood pressure I have enough stress as it is right now.
It’s hard to imagine, but Trump actually worries me, whereas most candidates that I dislike just make me cringe. With most candidates that I disagree with, I have to stop and ask myself “what is the worst that I think will really happen?” And usually there isn’t much to it. They may pass some policies that I disagree with, I may feel unhappy with our government for the next 4 years, but it’s not likely to be catastrophic. I do have some concerns that Trump could cause catastrophe as president. He seems reckless and unaffected by the threat of consequences.
Chaos; complete and utter chaos (which would still be preferable to the kingdom building efforts of “anointed king”, Ted Cruz.)
I’ll be viewing it from Canada. Or, maybe a Caribbean island, because Canada’s gorgeous but too darn cold!
@Rarebear – I thought you were confident that Clinton would beat Trump in the general. Are you having second thoughts, or is this just for fun?
@DoNotKnowMuch No, I do not believe I ever said I was confident Clinton would beat Trump. In fact, I believe I was saying the opposite: I was worried that if enough Sanders supporters jumped shipped and withheld their vote from Clinton that Trump would win.
^ Then I’m confused. If you were concerned about a Trump presidency, why vote for Clinton? It’s been pretty clear from polling that she didn’t do very well (or as well Sanders) against Trump in potential general election matchups. And it was clear from the beginning that up to 33% of Sanders supporters were not potential Clinton supporters. But again – I think the general election polling should have taken this latter point into consideration.
I’m astounded that a reality TV show could skew something as important as a presidential election.
“The Apprentice” began airing in 2004. It was an entertaining show and a big ratings hit. Before then, very few people were familiar with Donald Trump. NYC residents, certainly were, as were Atlantic City casino patrons, along with those who kept up with the news. Suddenly, however, the man was a popular celebrity and household name.
Now, Trump gets up in front of crowds, spews nonsense, and gets his TV fans to vote for him.
Hilarious, make it happen America
@DoNotKnowMuch Not going to debate this here. The Clinton nomination is all but wrapped up so it’s a moot point—she’s going to get the nomination. If you want to debate this further, go to the other thread. This thread is about Trump.
Then I think it would look something like this or this.
Who knows?
Even his campaign admits that he’s been focused on winning, not governing.
Trump is obviously a master at making the deal and delegating authority. If he could reverse the order and appoint a really top-notch, leaders-in-their-field, non-politico cabinet and advisors and then concentrate on closing the deals they propose, he could be a top-tier POTUS.
If Trump acts on the world stage like he’s acted on the campaign stage, then all bets are off. Anything from impeachment proceedings within the first 09 days to Armageddon.
It’s not a gamble the world can afford to take.
Like a joke. A really bad joke on the world.
The world will shake their head and roll their eyes, but we will still be the United States of America.
At least one of his kids will hold some sort of government position.
He probably won’t deport more than the usual deportations we have.
He might look at immigrant visas and try to change something.
His wife will be beautiful and do the typical china pattern and Christmas tree selections. Trump will love the whole pomp and circumstance of being in the White House and being the first family. He will eat it up, and do his best to be in the media. Think Eva Peron and her Rainbow Tour. I’m not so sure he will travel internationally like Eva, I just mean he will love the show.
He won’t build a wall.
He will try to change trade laws and agreements.
He will try to talk to leaders in the Middle East and try to broker a peace deal.
He will probably piss off some leaders of other countries. There is a risk it could result in something very bad.
He will leave Planned Parenthood and the subject of abortion alone.
He will probably do a lot of things as he sees fit without much counsel, but I think on some issues he will seek the experts.
He will try to change Obamacare. It’s a fantasy of mine he will crack down on all the crazy fees and padding in the cost of healthcare. I’m not holding my breath though. He will not instate socialized medicine, which is what I want.
@Rarebear I don’t think the Clinton nomination is in the bag. She could be indicted, her plane could have a mechanical failure and fall from the sky, A miracle turnout could happen in CA for Bernie. The super delegates could all turn on her at once. All of those are unlikely, but far from impossible.
I heard a stat the other day. No-one has ever won the presidency with an unfavorability rating as high as Hilary’s is right now. If the Democrats want to defeat Trump, they have a much better chance with Bernie.
Not much different than most.
@gorillapaws We can litigate this on the other thread. This thread is about President Trump.
The OP is poorly written. It assumes that Trump’s success will be based on a hatred for Clinton. Bad form.
Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi…
Anyone that claims that Trump is a bad choice for leader due to national image should have their head examined.
Remember Remember the 8th of November!!!!
@secondhandstoke I admit my OP had logical fallacies and hyperbole. But it did get people’s attention. And it was not poorly written. The grammar in it is superb.
I don’t know because I will block all media dealing with him until he’s out or dead. As of right now, I hit mute on my remote every time he comes on the news and I’m trying to read the screen for the democrat polls in the primary. Any other time he comes on the news or the media starts to go on their love fest of Trump I change the channel.
It is important to remember how he got his wealth.
He got it by gaining people’s trust, by making promises and enticing people to invest in his businesses either by lending him money or working for him as contractors. When the pot got sufficiently ‘huge’ he declared bankruptcy leaving all the people who trusted him with only a few cents on the dollar while keeping billions for himself. And he did it at least 4 times!!! The investors he screwed ultimately are us through lost pensions, higher bank fees, higher utility rates, and unemployed workers who were forced out of business. He could have paid the debts himself but he chose not to. He said “his businesses” declared bankruptcy – not him. Spoken like a true sociopath.
If he were president he would have even more power. Why does anyone think he would behave any differently?
@LuckyGuy Maybe a lot of people don’t care about his scruples if he is on their side. That’s a fatal flaw of course. Integrity always matters. You (the big you) always want honest people working with you. Or, people should anyway. As far as Trump, he used the laws. He sees it as business. If the debtors took bad risks too bad in his mind. I’m sure he has made deals where he lost.
Just part of business.
The people who lost jobs, it’s true, it seems like he doesn’t give it a second thought. It’s all numbers and deals, and big business.
I guess the question is will he be effective at making deals with other countries?
@JLeslie Don’t you think everyone he works with knows how he behaves? They can look at his track record. He did not create wealth (by inventing a product, manufacturing a widget, growing crops, mining ore…) He got his wealth by taking it from others while personally benefiting at their expense.
Surely any other world leader will see through his actions. Look up sociopath. It is a perfect description.
@LuckyGuy I definitely see him as a narcissist. I’m not sure I would call him a sociopath, but I’m sure he has some of the qualities of a sociopath.
Sure, I think the people who work with him and work at his level have his number. The people who vote for him is who I was talking about.
Have you ever spent time around people who skirt and break the law all the time? They are fine with it. It is normal to them. Everyone in their circles does it. They don’t look down on it. They are impressed with making the money.
@Rarebear ”...The grammar in it is superb.”
I think you mean “The grammar is tremendous.” or even “It is the best grammar of any internet post ever written.”
@SecondHandStoke I’m not sure what you’re referring to me about?
@gorillapaws I think s/he meant me. And you’re right. It’s the bestest post in the history of ever.
I have a feeling it’ll be a lot like this.
