Can you give me links to good science-oriented forums?
Especially interested in marine or naval engineering.

@Mimishu1995 Thanks, Mimi. I like Straight Dope a lot, but I’m looking for something more academic. You know of anything like that in Chinese?
Credible, big time and verified scientists and engineers can be found on Quora.com.
@Espiritus_Corvus well, the Straight Dope is the most technical I can find. And I don’t know any Chinese site, sorry. But Chinese sites are often very hard to find and are more accessible to Chinese because, you know, the Chinese internet sensoring policy that force Chinese people to use Chinese sites.
@Mimishu1995 Yes, I’m finding that to be true concerning the mainland People’s Republic. But what about Taiwan? They might have a more liberal policy. Do you know of any Chinese academic sites originating from Taiwan?
@Espiritus_Corvus well… no, sorry. But I guess Taiwanese sites may be easier to find.
Have you tried simply googling “science discussion”?
This was one of the first that I found.
Or this, which also came up in the list of results.
Here is one that I haven’t visited in a long time, but it was always a good way to while away the odd hour or two.
Have you tried to find any groups in Second Life?
^^Oh, yeah. That would be fun.
“Um, do you know of any science forums?”
“No, but my husband and I need a cuckholder tonight.”
Every time I’ve gone there, no matter what the avatar, I eventually get asked that.
Thank you everybody. I’ll pass these along.
^^ ick! There are science groups there. I belong to one and we meet Friday s and Sundays. No funny business but a lot of good banter.
Try searching for university sites there. Colorado just closed their sim, so we moved to the air and space museum sim. There is a group called Science Circle. Join and get alerts for their meet ups. They have great live guests.
