Who do you think Trump will pick for VP and why do you think this?

Asked by Cruiser (40454points) May 4th, 2016

Trump told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he’ll “probably go the political route,” saying he’s inclined to pick someone who can “help me get legislation passed.” and “I’ll probably go the political route, somebody that’s been friends with the senators”

He’ll pick a woman to grab the XX vote from Hillary.

He’s thick as shite & so will probably take the initials VP literally & choose Victoria (Pam Ewing) Principal
Wow was she hot to trot back then

Disagree with @LuckyGuy – any intelligent woman would not want to serve under Trump, and who needs another Sarah Palin?

It’s much more likely that he picks a VP from the senate – but he has to be careful, because the republicans may lose the senate this fall no matter who is elected president. So there’s some calculation that needs to be made.

The other problem he has is that the republican establishment hates him. And very few of them are going to agree to be his VP candidate and essentially be ostracized from the party. So Trump is going to have problems finding anyone of stature who adds to the party.

So who does that leave?

Chris Christie.

@elbanditoroso Christie is IMO the odds on favorite but if Trump were to go female VP there aren’t a lot of Trumpish choices…but one stands out to me is Joni Earnst

Though she is a junior senator she is from Iowa Senate for 3 years and the big kicker is she is a Vet. Plus with her hair they can go to the same barber.

I think that Trump will pick a yellow dog and Clinton, obviously, will pick a blue dog.

In order to increase his chances with female voters – and maybe even to increase his chances of shagging her – he may even choose his daughter as a running mate. So to speak.

In fact, to double down on her chances of nailing down the women’s vote, Hillary may choose her own daughter, as well.

I know it all sounds ridiculous, but what part of Clinton vs. Trump does not sound ridiculous?

Bernie Sanders. He said that the democratic party is unfair to Bernie. So He doesn’t hate him. I still think that If he doesn’t pick one of his competitors that he would pick Jesse Ventura.

Not a clue, but I’m betting not female. But in the unlikely event it is, it won’t be—I can hardly make myself write her name—Sarah. The look on Trump’s bloated face as she delivered her rambling, incoherent endorsement speech screamed “Get me the hell away from this madwoman.”

I just ran across this…
Donald Trump said he is open to vetting the Ohio governor as a potential running mate.

” I would be interested in vetting John ,” the presumptive Republican nominee told CNN.

Kasich would probably be an intelligent choice for Trump. Kasich was the only one of the candidates who was beating Hillary in head-to-head polls, and he attracts the saner end of Republican voters—which I think is going to be much more important in the national election.

I think Kasich as VP would also temper Trump’s insane image, and maybe make people think that he’s not so dangerous if he’s choosing the “moderate” Kasich.

Ben Carson is an imbecile, and I think Trump knows it. Same with Sarah Palin.

Chris Christie, who was the first former candidate to endorse Trump, is too much a pathetic gimp and loser. He was practically sucking on Trump’s nether-regions. And as much as Trump likely got a kick out of Christie’s submissive act—I think he also knows what a completely unappealing loser Christie is.

At the moment, my money is on Kasich. If not, then maybe one his shady friends from the organised crime underworld? Maybe some former contestant on The Apprentice?

I think he may have made an agreement with Cruz early on. It will be interesting to see.

I’m betting Kasich.

That Indian chick senator from NC or SC would be the lady if I thought he’d pick a lady, but I’m betting many sensible Repubs will want to steer clear of the train wreck that is certain to become of Trump, if not pre-presidency, then during his reign if he gets in.

I think Kasich or a much lesser known politician who we are unlikely to guess. Christie I think is too northeast and says what’s on his mind without much of filter. Basically, that means they are too much alike in demeanor, and so I think Trump will go a different way to try to have broader appeal. I easily could be wrong.

He probably would be smart to choose someone who appeals to the evangelicals, but not too extreme.

I can’t imagine it will be Cruz. That would shock and disgust me more than I already am.
