What's the ironic thing you realised lately?
Hi! Lately I realised I’ve been studying and doing homework non-stop, even if our term just started… And I suddenly had this mentality where “You should do it” is all I’m telling to myself. I used to procrastinate a lot and complain how much I hate school, but lately I’m doing my plates even way too earlier before the deadline. Last night, my friend told me something that I told him (which is something I don’t remember telling him) this, “Y’know, I hate studying and school so much, so I might just actually study this term.” He told me how he finds it funny because it’s ironic, and when I heard that “ironic” word, it came up to me how ironic what I was doing was.
And it’s even weird for me because I’m working so hard only on the last 2 terms before graduating college… Like, “I should have done this before so I never wasted a lot of time!” (We’re 2 years late)
So, what’s the ironic thing you realised lately?

- That some people who constantly show off something are seriously lacking that thing. I know someone who usually complain with me how she is always short of money and how hard she has to save up to hang out with me. Her family is actually very poor and she has to, according to her complaint, use her monthy payment to feed her family. But on her Facebook page, wow! So many photos of her eating out in exotic places. Right now she knows even more restaurants and entertainment places than me.
- That sometimes the one you laugh at will be the one who gets shit done, sometimes even brilliantly. Actually this isn’t a new discovery but Donald Trump’s victory once again proves that the irony is true. I have my personal story to share too. I used to be a disgrace to my big family. Everyone predicted that I would just grow up to be rubbish, and all hope was placed onto my two cousins. And right now the cousins are deep in their shit of lack of proper education and debauchery, and I am studying at a locally famous college.
The America’s cup competition celebrates man vs wind and sea (unfotuneately, it’s still a pretty misogynistic competition) but is now so focused on tech that it barely resembles the concept of “sailing” anymore.
Every picture tells a story but not every picture is worth a 1,000 words.
@Mimishu1995, you are so right. The people one least expects to shine are the ones who finally do. The ones who always had the sun shining out of their ass often mess up big time. As for you, I cannot see why they would think so poorly of you! Perhaps you thought that. They can’t be so blind!
The same thing I have realized multiple times in my life, most people are not nearly as emotionally intelligent as I am or as I assume them to be. Aaaah, the irony. haha
That a Q&A site which relies on just those 2 things, should have users who, however decent the question, avoid participating in threads of someone they dislike
Me, I don’t care, always read the question & barely notice the asker even those I think are pricks
But yeah, that’s an example of irony, no biggie, just answering the question…which is nice
I live in a state of perpetual irony, so… no particular recent realizations.
I did realize, decades ago, that the more one earned, the less difficult was the work that one had to do. For that reason I have decided to do no work at all, and damned if the money isn’t just rolling in.
Irony of life is that if you want a thing desperately it becomes harder to get.
That people want things done a certain way until they don’t…and I always get caught in the crossfire…
