How do I determine if food from Amazon is fresh before buying it?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24892points) May 9th, 2016

I was interested in 24 cans of Puritan Beef Stew for $42.00. It was listed in 2013. Is it still fresh?

Amazon has a very good return policy so if anything seems off about the smell when you open it, contact them and return.

@RedDeerGuy1 Are you saying the deal was listed in 2013? Is it still available and you want to buy it now?

If you are buying it now, you don’t need to concern yourself about freshness. Amazon is not going to sell you food they didn’t sell three years ago.

Can you ask a question of the seller to find out the sell by date?

I walked 4 blocks to Co-op and got 4 tins of beef stew on sale for 2 for $7.

@all Amazon doesn’t permit me to order food over the border. So its a moot point.
