A name foreign to Americans?
I like Anastasia.
Or an American name foreign to you?
Molly.
Here are my favorites, some of which aren’t all that common, but I think they are cute (the numbers listed in parentheses denote their standing in the most popular 250 baby girl names in America):
Mimi (Miranda 144, Marie/Maria 47)
Mia (17)
Chloé (19)
Maya (72)
Ci Ci (Ciara, 150)
Kiki (Christina, or Kristina 138)
Zoë (59)
Esmé (213)
Here is the list
One thing to remember is people are adults longer than they are babies, so when you give someone a cute name, remember they will be using it when they’re 30, even 70, years old.
Elizabeth (Liz)
Samantha (Sam)
Julie or Julia or Julie
Jennifer (Jen Jenny)
Emma
Kerri
Taylor
Ashley
Carly
Nina
Vivian (Viv Vivvy) not popular, and is rarely used now, but I like it.
Madison (Maddy)
Meghan
Kathryn Katherine (Kathy) You don’t see this name as much anymore, but it used to be very popular.
@Espiritus_Corvus The way I read it the OP wants American name suggestions. Is that your list of American names? We certainly use those names in America, but as you said they aren’t very common. I like your list though. It seems fairly international though. Which, In some ways is very American, but the names aren’t very “anglocized.” I realize some of my suggestions aren’t either.

Carol It is a good, solid, dependable name. There is nothing frivolous about the name.
American onomastics are as much or more a melting pot than the people named by it.
Most names are derived or borrowed wholesale from cultures around the world. The unique thing about American names is that it’s not at all uncommon for a person whose family has never been to Hawaii to be named Leilani, or a person of Japanese descent to be named a traditionally Irish name like Connor or Brian.
I have always liked Anouk (Dutch for Anna). It means Grace.
Wait…..............your three-month old daughter should already have a name.
We have a year to name our children in Norway.
It is difficult naming kids with two languages because we have to think how it is written and spoken. We decided no ’å, æ,ø’ in the name and something that was pronounced simply in both languages.
American names go through trends. It used to be cool naming you baby after a place, like China, Brooklyn, London…. now people are giving names to kids that sound like last names. If you like those trends, then, that would be very ‘American ’.
I like old fashioned names for girls after gems or flowers. Pearl, Rose, Ruby Violet, Daisy
Thank you all for the wonderful names….looking forward to have more suggestions , so that would be able to choose best out of it. :)
I like a lot of the classic names from 45–65 years ago. Not so much the flowers and gems, but names like Barbara, Karen, Sharon, Deborah, Linda, Lisa, Patricia, and yes, Carol, were all very popular in America back then. I also like the biblical names like Sarah, Rachel, and Rebecca.
My daughter is named “Emily”, Emily Rose. I too like a lot of the old fashioned names.

@Marissa1 I like your name, Marissa too. Ginny can be a name all by itself but it is also a nickname for “Virginia.”

Penny is very American. We had some new kids start at a daycare I work at and they have very American sounding names now. Billy. Molly.
