Why do I get the message "This Web page is not available" when attempting to edit a post ?
This only appears after I repeatedly try clicking send after I’ve edited something OR when clicking the “edit this question” button and getting no response.
At first I thought it might be my phone so I rebooted. But this situation persisted. I thought perhaps a lagging problem due to one of the Fluther servers being down like in past times, but am not seeing anything in META from others experiencing lag. Or are there others experiencing lagging but just haven’t said so?
Can somebody figure out what’s going on here. Obviously the Web page IS available because it’s an edit, so that message makes zero sense to me.
Help?

I’m not sure… I seem to be able to edit posts and questions fine, but I’m also trying it three hours later… is it working yet for you? Or still having issues?
It’s been going on for the last several days.
It could be that the server for the phone part of Fluther, is having trouble directing traffic to its correct destinations.
Do the web pages on your phone show web addresses? Sometimes those can be rewritten to go where intended.
I wonder if any other mobile users are having this trouble.
Here’s the address to edit for desktop users: http://www.fluther.com/edit/quip/3239551/
I think the address for phone users would be the same as above, except perhaps the network for mobile access is something like “mob” instead of “www”.
BTW, I’m posting from a desktop and the editing TOK* for me.
*Tests OKay
It doesn’t just happen when I edit a post. Sometimes it happens when trying to post an answer initially but as long as I hit the back arrow it returns me to the written post and I just have to keep clicking until it finally does post.
My biggest hesitation about typing it out manually (aside from being a huge PITA) is that everything vanishes into the ether.
That has happened often enough and necessitates re-typing the entire post again, at which point I just give up.
And it also happens often when I’m trying to GA someone else’s post and I just have to repeatedly click multiple times before it goes through. But the message about “this Web page is unavailable” typically doesn’t appear for that.
But since nobody else is reporting similar problems I’m inclined to think that it’s something about my phone rather than the Fluther servers.
In the past, when lagging occurs, even after rebooting, it has typically been the Fluther servers and lots of other people are experiencing the same thing and it wasn’t apparent until one person asked about the lagging and multiple people chimed in.
But this time that’s apparently not the case so I’m assuming it’s the phone ( or the carrier) this time around and I’ll be calling MetroPCS to see what’s up.
But I do appreciate your effort to help me resolve this.
Hm…I just tried this out on my cellphone, and it worked fine. Have you tried clearing your cache?
