Would you help me decide on an accent color to paint a travel trailer ceiling?

I need ideas for a fun ceiling accent color that would be a nice compliment to a white kitchen with a bright turquoise accent wall behind the range and sinks. Perhaps a lighter shade of turquoise or? Share your creative color ideas jellies! The final redo on this travel trailer will be a combo of white & turquoise with red accents. Like this.

I helped a friend once do this. He painted a blue sky with puffy clouds, in which he used glow-in-the-dark paint to paint stars. They were invisible until it was dark. It was a deeply cool effect.
@canidmajor I had the same thought, great idea, but I think I want to go for a solid color for the time factor in completing this project.
My first thought was a splash of squares – almost a checkerboard, but easier to do. Maybe white and turquoise? White and red would look like a picnic blanket on the ceiling, probably. You could do a layer of flat white, then mask off the lines with painter’s tape and paint over the whole thing with gloss turquoise.
@Seek Haha, yeah, the accent decor will have red but not in the painting. Hmmm…that is a cool visual, I will look up some checkered ceilings like that. Thanks!
I think I’d go with white, with texture.
Tin ceiling is popular, inexpensive and easy to use.
If you wanted to get really creative, you could use a rigid roller to highlight just the highest points with turquoise. Maybe hand apply touches of red?
It’s a small space and the busier the ceiling is, the smaller it will get.
I haaaaaate textured ceilings. Dust and spiderwebs and awful.
The ceiling in a travel trailer is within arm’s reach.
Easier to dust than to play checkers on?
If you pass out after magic brownies and wine, a checkered ceiling will make you think you’ve passed out on the ceiling and are looking at the checkered floor. lol
@Seek That is wild, I like it but I’m not sure I could pull it off without messing it up, I am not the most coordinated painter, I have to stop and wipe up stuff every 2 minutes.
@ibstubro LOL maybe I should paint furniture on the ceiling. Hey, that tin ceiling tile is pretty neato too!
Okay, I will check in later, back to painting. It is going to be really cute when I’m done. What I want to know is WHY the frack do they use the fugliest paneling in these things, it wasn’t even attractive when it was brand new! haha
What is a travel trailer. Is it what I know as a caravan?
Okay, the one super cool thing I did today, along with more painting was to print out a copy of my cool giant abstract painting and blow it up at the local Walgreens and then trimmed and used adhesive to tack it inside a funky framed mirror over the dinette table. Looks awesome!
I am covering the cushions with a red and turquoise “tree of life” indian tapestry.
Still have a ways to go with the painting, and then I will think about the ceiling more.
I am also going to paint the bathroom something offbeat, like coral. It is going to be a cool little bohemian caravan! I used contact paper to cover the plank area where the full size bed goes. New mattress on order for next week.
Came out nice. Green paisley covering to make a nice, fresh, clean bed base. I haven’t has this much fun in years! :-)
Sooo, in my avatar, kinda small I know, but here is the halfway project.
How about red. (I’m all for go mad or go home!). Or another colour blue in the monochromatic shade of blues.
I’m voting for the lighter shade of turquoise
@Stinley I think I am too, good call. :-)
@ibstubro Dude!
You outdid yourself! All of those are super cool ideas! Muchas gracias!
If you were here right now I’d share my Ben & Jerrys with you. haha
