Should I install the McAfee anti-virus that comes with my netbook?

I have a new Acer netbook that I bought a few months ago and just recently started using. I use it for internet and storing some photos. I don’t do work on it, don’t write any letters or anything with it.

I just got a reminder that it comes with McAfee anti-virus and would I like to install it now. The next step is create a password, etc. The prompts said something about learning about other McAfee products and managing my subscription.

What I don’t want is something where I get prompted constantly to purchase shit that I don’t want. What I would like is if this is a useful product and it works, I’d like to utilize it.

Should I or should I do without it?
