I need formatting help.

How do I correctly type in the code for bold face or italics? I did manage to screw that up in my last post, but I would prefer italics to screw-ups.

Although your description is a bit confusing. What exactly do you want help with?
What’s confusing?
At sites which use UBB, for italics, i’d type before the text, and after it. For bold i’d type and . I just wanted to know what code to use, or perhaps to be directed to an existing thread which describes the process.
Check my link. This site doesn’t use the same codes as other sites.
OK, i’ve seen that page and it didn’t help . . . initially. But i’ve had an “Aha” moment.

All right,that works. Thanks.
That’s not exactly “all” of the formatting.
You can also + underline + → underline (leave out the spaces between the + and the text to underline).
You can, if you want, type @ monospace @ → monospace
(same tip applies as above).
And someone has learned how to do highlighting, but won’t divulge the secret.

There are a lot of things people are doing which are not covered on the “All the formatting” page. Such as converting a large body of text to italics. Such as embedding a link with text—such as a youtube video link which displays the name of the song. Really, if there is a thread that covers this, i’d be very obliged to anyone who can point me there.
The large body of text in italics is the same as “regular italics”, except that the formatting has to be applied for each paragraph. Any time you hit the “Enter” key to end a line, you would also need to apply your special formatting. (That applies whether it is whisper text, bold, italic, underlined, monospace
or whatever.)
As to the links to CNN that contain the text you want, I think that is explained in the formatting link above, isn’t it? In any case, you need to include “what the link should say” in quotation marks, followed immediately by a colon and then immediately thereafter by the URL.
I’m still trying to understand highlighting (and now strike-through, since I also saw that on a post earlier this week).
Thanks for you help. I’ll give it a try.
