Do we have members who are related one way or other on this site?
Do you know of any members who are couples/ related in any way who are active on this site or were you introduced to this site by your relative? Just curious to know.

There have been many related members. Mothers/daughters, in-laws, couples, but right now I can only think of one couple whose names I shall not divulge and actually, one of them rarely participates anymore. My daughter is a member but has been inactive for several years now. Too busy to fluther but if I should drop dead she will post my passing here. haha
I can think of a mother and son. There also there was a marriage; after two people met on Fluther.
Oh, there is a mother and three daughters, too.
Don’t forget we also have a famous aunt/nephew pair too.
There were the Blonds, when they had a lot more fun.
Other than that, I don’t know of any during my tenure.
Oh, wait. I do seem to remember a couple that liked to hike getting married?
Off an on there’s been a lot of discussion about pros and cons of inviting family and friends to join.
There was a lot of debate about making a member’s private information public, if that member died.
Fine line.
My oldest daughter was a member, a long time ago, as was her ex. Both have moved on, as far as I know…
We have had parents/children, couples (both before they joined and those who hooked up on here), aunts and nephews, and siblings.
Setanta and I are partners. We met online at Abuzz (old NYT discussion site) a long time ago – he’d have to tell you when since he’s much better with dates/timelines than I am.
That’s cool , @BellaB. Thanks for telling us.
Nice profile, too, BTW.
We’ll have to hope that @keobooks comes back to visit. She’s a favorite of mine, and her avatar is, I believe, Marcie.
I miss the Tooth and her daughter.
I’m not related to anyone on here nor do I know anyone.
One related question that comes to mind.. would you invite your friends/ relatives over here?
I’ve invited friends/relatives to other forums I participate/d in. I’ve been careful about the invites – not everybody suits every site. It’s a bit like the dating game – have to try for good matches. So far it’s gone well.
I’m married to Blondesjon. (24 years)
We both joined Fluther in December of 2008. We are known as the Blonds.
My mother, sister, and grandma are on Fluther. All are rarely active.
Wow.
That’s fairly amazing, @longgone.
I had no idea. Does that make you filter what you’ll post?
@ibstubro It doesn’t change my responses, but it may change what I respond to. For example, I’ve been reluctant to write about any “horrible” childhood experiences. However, I don’t share these anywhere on the internet. I read a couple of secret diaries when I was a kid. Private thoughts should stay private, they can be very hurtful when read unfiltered. This is especially problematic when the author is no longer around. A friend of mine killed himself a few years ago, and his family went through his internet accounts in a desparate attempt to find information on what may have caused his suicide. I don’t plan to die anytime soon – but when I do, I don’t want my family stumbling across any long-forgotten, anger-fueled thoughts I may have had at some point.
@imrainmaker Thanks!
How did that come to be, if you don’t mind me asking, @longgone?
I mean, who found Fluther first, and did the others follow by invitation or accident?
This is something I’ve given a lot of admittedly superficial thought to. If you don’t want to leave footprints, PM?
^ My sister found Fluther first. She was active for a while, got me hooked. My mum joined out of curiousity, not sure whether she ever even asked a question – and my grandma joined just a few weeks ago, after discussing Ben’s new project (Jelly) with me. Jelly was in Beta at that time, so she couldn’t join there. She may become more active over time, she seems to like lurking about at the moment.
