Why am I unable to access either Social or Meta?
I have both restarted my phone as well as the Fluther tab and it still refuses to budge off of the General section when I click on either of the other two.
I’m putting this in General and hope the mods don’t move it to Meta because then I obviously won’t be able to access it to read the answers.
I do remember several years ago that this same thing was happening and persisted for several days until the powers that be fixed whatever was causing the problem.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I am not having the problem on my iPad.
And I am not having the problem on my iMac. So it is most likely your phone.
Not having any issues on any of my devices (Win 10, Chrome), Android 6.0 (Chrome, Firefox), and Chromebook.
If you need to get there, you can always just type the url manually: fluther.com/browse/social
@DNKM
Oh joy. I just love typing so much ~~
I’m sorry, I would look into this but I can’t replicate. I’ve tried on both the desktop and mobile sites from my phone (Android).
I guess it must be my phone then. I hate Android.
I never had this problem with my iphone. Ugh.
@Buttonstc: “I hate Android”
It’s not an Android problem.
Well I never had this with IOS.
The phone I have is a Samsung, supposed to be the next best thing so we’re not talking some cheapo Chinese knockoff or something.
Hence my assumption that it has more to do with the OS than the phone. But I could be wrong about that. All I know is that I didn’t encounter stuff like this with an iPhone (and not even with my aging 3G which I’ve had to switch to) ugh again.
Have you tried the Mobile site? Link is at the bottom of the page
The mobile site is where im experiencing the problem. If youre on phone, it automatically displays as mobile. I havent Fluthered with a computer for ages :)
I have a Samsung, and I just checked: I can access both Social and Meta. I hope this clears up soon. In the meantime, how about accessing the desktop version from your phone?
@Buttonstc – You haven’t mentioned what web browser you are using. Are you using Chrome? Firefox? Chrome on Android definitely works, as we’ve confirmed (and so does Firefox). Are you using a different browser?
I guess the correct terminology for it would be the stock browser. Whichever one is standard Android and comes with the phone. Whatever activates when i hit the “internet” blue and white icon. Does that make sense?
I guess i could dl chrome or firefox and give them a try.
^ Yes. You probably shouldn’t be using Samsung’s “browser”. Stock Android (not Samsung’s version) comes with Chrome installed, which is by far the best browser for Android. Samsung takes stock Android and installs their own launchers and other software on top of Android, which generally makes Android less-secure, slower, and running older technology. So, even if the Samsung browser starts working again, I would highly recommend never using it again.
Has anything here helped yet?
I’ve had the same problem on and off for the past few months when I’m using my Android. I can only access the general section, sometimes Meta, but never social. I could finally get to social by going to my activity first.
@Stinley
Yes there are a few things that worked. I either use my very old iPhone 3G or I use the desktop option on my Android phone.
But, for some odd reason, when using the desktop version, all the little auto punctuation niceties don’t work.
So most of the time I go back to my old iPhone as I’m currently doing.
^ @Buttonstc – So, you’re still having the issue in Chrome?
Actually, I recently tried Chrome and Fluther works fine on it. I just may start using it for everything. Thanks.
