Hypothetical to muse: would extraterrestrials be villains if they colonized the earth but did not annihilate man?
Say, in the future (it will never happen, but roll with it) extraterrestrials landed on Earth. They see the infrastructure of humans, etc. but their intelligence next to ours is the way we see termites; they have no desire to try and communicate of see us as greatly intelligent at all. The areas they colonize they wipe out any humans or animals in the way, similar to how we move into the hills and get rid of any coyotes, wild boar, bears, etc. that eat our plants, nibble or shrubs, or root our lawns, even though they were there first. The areas they have not chosen to use they do not bother mankind or even pay us any mind. Would humans see them as villains? Would humans resign themselves to make do with the land the extraterrestrials have not bothered, would man do all he can to drive the aliens off the planet? Would we think we were in some way intellectually related as to try to make communication with them even though they show no interest?

Make no mistake: We would slay all of you.
We would not allow it. We would build a wall around the world and refuse to allow them to immigrate into the global community.
We would see them as villains for sure but doubt if they would see themselves the same way, unless they were Buddhists.

Would that be about as successful as if ants were to try and stop man from entering Time Square, if they had the capacity to endeavor as such? No wild life I know has ever kept humans out of their territorial habitation.

Great question…... That’s why I honestly try and treat every single living being on this earth (man, woman, animal, planet, bug, etc) with respect…........ I don’t eat meat and I don’t even try and kill insects…...... If I see a bee or spider I just let it go outside…........ because of your very question…..... I think if the roles of power were reversed…... How would I like to be treated???

I think if they regarded us the same as we do gophers and such, unless we were interfering in their plans they would pay us no mind. We don’t go out to annihilate all gophers just for being gophers. If they dig up our lawn, ruin our gardens, or endanger our livestock then we seek to get rid of them, but only in those areas where they are a nuisance, those way deep in the wilds where man has not got his stuff, are hardly thought of.
