@ARE_you_kidding_me There have been 998 mass shootings since a man massacred small children in their school in Newtown, Connecticut. What on Earth is “knee jerk” about a call for regulation. This has been thought about for far too long with no action.

The idea that we must attack the source of the hate is fine, but we can do both. After 9/11, we banned knives and box cutters on planes and then liquids over 3 ounces. We did it in the face of facts. 30,000 people each year are killed in the US by guns. How many more facts do we need to regulate guns?

The reason nothing is done over and over again is very simple: Republican lawmakers have been paid by the NRA to allow lax gun laws. It’s very simple. It’s about money. The gun industry is rolling in money, and the NRA encourages more people to buy guns with lies about Obama coming to take them away.
