Would you give us a best "guesstimate" of the number of clothes hangers there are in your home?

I’m hoping I have under 1,500, in reality.
I’m going to guess 837.
No, I will not count them.

Less than 100. Probably closer to 50. Almost all of them are holding up my husband’s black t-shirts.
16
Update: I just counted the number of hangers I own, and I own exactly 16! However, there are three other people living with me whose hangers I did not consider, and I’m not the only unit in this building, so I don’t know how we’re defining “home.”
Haha, yes, since I just moved, let me count my minimalist closet.
28!
Dresses, skirts, sweaters and jackets.
I have plenty, who needs 300 coat hangers, thin the closet herd you guys!
Normally around 400 I think? It might be as high as 500. That includes hangers for both tops, coats, and clip hangers for slacks and skirts. It is for my husband and I, plus a small closet of clothing for my parents, plus extra hangers for guests.
Note: remember that some people hang what other people fold, so there is a little grey in the answers. Like my husband hangs up his jeans and I fold mine.
It might be 12 * no. of people.. Im just guessing and not gonna count..))
I’d say 200 in my closet and 300 in daughter’s two closets so 500 total, roughly.
No. It’s in the hundreds. I think I have hanger addiction.
What you all do with so many hangers?
360. Just guessing. Could be many more. I know there are a bunch of empty ones that I’ve accumulated in a box, many of them wire ones from the old days. Often when I donate clothes I also supply a bunch of hangers.
Around 60 in total with 30 for my personal use. I put multiple shirts on the one hanger due to limited space.
My totally extemporaneous guess is about 400.
I measured the thickness of 10 hangers.
Extrapolating from that, I have about…400 hangers.
If only I owned that many hangars.
My guess is about 420. I tried to figure out how many clothes fit in a five foot length (50?), multiplied ti by two sides then times four closets then through in an extra 20 for those in the laundry room.
450. After getting rid of a lot…
This is just summer clothes and coats. Winter clothes are away in a box and twice a year I have to do “the switch.”
Probably had 100 before I threw all the metal ones out. Now, maybe 50 plastic. Had to keep 2 metal ones because my leather jacket is so heavy it will break even 3 plastic ones. I need more, but for some reason I don’t want to pay for hangers…
I hate the plastic hangers…I have way too many clothes to waste the space.
I prefer the plastic coated metal hangers. Back in the day, they were really substantial.
You should be able to buy some wooden hangers cheap, @MrGrimm888. Or even free.
I just bought the “huggable hanger” type of hangers (generic from Costco). Like $8 per box of 30. They are the best – it’s true they don’t take up a lot of space so you really can hang more clothes than with plastic, and I can’t stand metal (the dry cleaner type).
Many more than I have closet space for – my old house only has one tiny clothes closet. Most clothes have to be folded and put into drawers. Kind of annoying since it’s easier to find things that are hung up.
In spite of having only one tiny closet I keep buying wooden hangers when I find them at thrifts or yard sales. I’ve got some kind of built-in wooden hangers are good gene that should have been recessive.
Mine are either plastic or nice, padded hangers and wooden skirt hangers. No metal.
I don’t know about everyone else that lives here and I am not about to go looking but I have zero. I don’t even fold my clothes. If I need to be fancy for something I can toss a shirt in the dryer for 20 minutes to get the wrinkles out.
@imrainmaker: I can’t speak for everyone else, but I hang clothes on mine.
I thought I really hit maturity when all my wire hangers
finally turned into plastic ones. Clothes are at the bottom
of my purchase list so I probably don’t have but maybe 75.
If space was no issue, @BellaB, I’d have all wooden hangers.
I don’t hang pants. I hate the crease in the knee.
More than a dozen, less than 50. That’s my best “guesstimate”, and I’m not going to count them!
