Favorite guitar player?

Don’t have a favourite. However, I love Tommy Emmanuel, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana…

Me three for Clapton and too for Hendrix.

My favorite Clapton works are his solos on the British version of Spoonful, NSU, and the Yoko-free version of Yer Blues with the Plastic Ono Band.

Hendrix: Foxey Lady, If Six Was Nine, Hey Baby, and Red House.

I guess my favorite though, is probably Johnny Winter.

Too many “favorites” dependinig on the genre. I mean, blues verging into jazz. I mean who do you pick? Clapton, Kenny Burrell, Mississippi John Hurt? Okay for bluegrass it’s Doc Watson, no debate! Then there are the classical guitarists, Flamenco guitarists, and where do you plop Django Reinhardt?

Clapton for sure, and yes, Stevie Ray Vaughn Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia.

Steve Morse is my all time favorite though Ritchie Kotzen is a guitarist who I can’t get enough of especially live. Now if you ask any pro guitarist alive today who they would pay money to see play live almost all would say Frank Marino who has influenced my own guitar playing more than any other guitarist.

Great choice on the Zappa tune @flutherother I was lucky to see him play this live during the 1978 Zoot Allures tour.

Tommy Emmanuel is ah mazing! He sometimes plays at the local Bluegrass festival we have here every year.

John Martyn and Mississippi John Hurt. I love acoustic finger picking guitar.

IMO it has to be Mark Knopflier of Dire Straights fame.

My favorite guitar player is Brian May, because he plays in the band called “Queen.”
