Is it safe to eat cherries that are bruised?
When I see a bruised cherry I think of parasites , worms , and bacteria. Is it safe to eat? Or should I eat around the bruised parts? I just bought a bag of cherries, and would like not to waste good cherries.

I can’t see your cherries, but I’ve eaten bruised cherries before. They were fine. Wash them as usual, and enjoy.
I just cut off the questionable part and eat the rest.
Sure, just cut off the bruised spots or toss them out for the birds and squirrels. Never waste food when something can eat it.
Over here all produce that gets a little funky goes to the chickens.
We just filled up a huge 20 gallon tub with little green apples from the tree here that nobody is eating because they are a little sour and puckery but the horses love them.
Everyone gets 3 little apples with their hay every night. That’s 27 apples a day that are not rotting on the ground.
When in doubt, I’d say avoid it. But cutting away the bruised part is usually all that’s needed for any fruit.
@oneword, haven’t seen you in years. Always and still a paragon of economy.
Wash the cherries well, trim out heavily bruised bits, eat and enjoy!
After seeing how they are harvested, I assume that most or all cherries are bruised.
