Internet keeps going out?

For the last few weeks, my internet which is Verizon FIOS, has gone out several times. I’ve learned what will get it back up; rebooting the battery back-up and resetting the router, but it is annoying. Wondering what is causing it? I’ve had this problem other times – often in the summer. Could it have something to do with the air conditioner or with the temp? Any ideas before I call Verizon?

Do you have any neighbors with FIOS and if so, do they have the same problem?
You could browse through here and look for people in the same boat as you.
DLSReports – Forums → US ISPs non-cable → Verizon FiOS (despite the name, DSLReports is about all kinds of ISPSs).
But probably it’s worth the calling first. They can check the quality of the signal reaching your home.
Have you done a diagnostic on your IP?
That might tell you something as to what the issue is.
I have the speed test app, and whenever I have problems it registers on there. I don’t understand why sometimes the signal is so low. I’m supposed to be at 40, and a couple of hours ago it was 2! I didn’t call the tech people, but I want to. The app keeps the history of the tests and where it is pinging from. I’m not sure if that information helps the tech people, but I’m thinking it might.
