What's the easiest country to be a female in?

Asked by MrGrimm888 (19541points) July 19th, 2016

Could have said least challenging too.
If you’re a female( I know it isn’t easy) . Which country abides the most civil rights, and fairest treatment of women?

If you’re a woman in a country that would rather be in another country, which country? Why?

Women are the glue that bonds my family. I don’t think I’d have the benefit of them in some countries though…Not their opinions anyway.

Where’s the best place to be a woman ?

Paradise Island, later dubbed Themyscira, which is home to the Amazons.

The Scandinavian countries – Sweden, Denmark and Norway. And possibly Finland.

@YARNLADY, I hear many good things about Sweden. Not just for females.

Yep, Scandinavia.

@kritiper, why Brazil? My older sister was there for 6 months, about 2 yrs ago, and she didn’t feel safe there. She’s pretty outgoing and confident. It surprised me she wasn’t comfortable there. Maybe she just was in a rough area. She was training employees at an assembly plant or something. Maybe it was a bad neighborhood?

I think you’re asking the wrong question.

It’s much more about education and socio-economic status than it is about nationality. A wealthy, educated woman in Saudi Arabia has a much more pleasant life than poor white trash woman in Arkansas.

Even in Scandanavia, as some answered above, a woman who has no money is not going to fare very well, no matter what the official political stance is.

No country for poor women..

I guess it depends on what you consider to be most important. Here is an article (2013) from The Atlantic that breaks it down into different categories.

New Zealand women have the best working lives; Bulgaria gives the most maternity leave; Denmark the most life satisfaction; Japan the least domestic violence; Rwanda the most women in public office; so I guess, take your pick.

@elbanditoroso I think in a socialistic society like Sweden even poor women are better off because of the social safeties and parental-child welfare provided. It’s not only socio-economic status.

Antarctica?

I think the answers so far cover what is the best country to be the prevalent ethnicity but not what it’s like belonging to an ethnic minority and be a woman in these countries.

janbb's avatar

@Stinley In that instance, perhaps Canada.

@MrGrimm888 That’s where the Amazon is, home to the Amazons.
