The Shootist (1976)
I’ve watched it many times over four decades and find it better (and more poignant) with each re-watching.

Not a fan. Not The Duke’s fault. Opie just annoys me, and Harry Morgan and the rest just didn’t ring true.
Wayne had better films with The Searchers, True Grit, and Stagecoach.
I’m a fan and will watch this soon, I don’t think I have ever seen it ir if I have I don;t remember now.
The funniest thing ever was seeing one of his old B&W films on TV is Asia a few years back with Mandarin subtitles. He’s slinging back a shot at the bar and speaking Mandarin, talk about lost in translation. haha
