What is the best kind of laptop for a thirteen year old?

No thirteen year old needs a laptop.

Teens need computers. For games go for a PC. You can get a Dell for under a grand.

If you want to play solitaire, bejeweled, or fun little games like that, anything will do. If you’re interested in more immersive, 3D games, make sure it has a discrete graphics card like a Nvidia 8800 or 9700, and not one with “shared” memory. For the advanced games, if the laptop has 256, 384 or 512 MB of graphics memory you’ll be ok.
