Why would it look like the gigantic fire is soooo close?

Asked by flo (13313points) August 9th, 2016

Okay I’m exagerrating but where the major fire is, is far, about 45 minutes away by car, so it would take hours to walk over there. But why would it look like it is close enough that I can walk there in maybe 20 minutes?
What makes something look so close when it’s not at all?

Being careless? Selfie. edit. It would be cool to see a firenado. Don’t risk your life. We have lots of free pictures on the Internet. A fire can travel faster than a human can run. You might be able to sell the photos to the media for $100.

@RedDeerGuy1 I was just trying to imagine which building it would be. I thought that it must be one of the buildings I pass by every other day it looked so close.
