You knew it couldn't last. May we hear opinions on the cancellation of "The Nightly Show"?
I’ve been wondering about the probability of its demise since its arrival. Is anyone else surprised it lasted this long?

There are way to many late night shows, and I imagine the political ones get the least viewers. Larry Wilmore is wonderful, but no surprise.
Within 2 weeks of the show’s premier, I came to appreciate that the overriding focus of the show was on social inequities. I remember telling the wife that the program wouldn’t last 2 months. I think someone with a lot of leverage stood between the program’s draw (ratings) and the decision to pull the plug. My bet is that it was Jon Stewart
He wasn’t funny. His agenda took over the quality of the show.
If you are going to air a late night comedy show, it would seem that the bare minimum is that it has to make you laugh.
It seemed to me like The Nightly Show was made in an effort to balance the opinions presented by a white Jewish dude on The Daily Show (I mean, look at the name). Now The Daily Show is spearheaded by a black dude from South Africa. And that dude is really funny.
Kinda made The Nightly Show irrelevant. Especially since it was not funny.
I think the show was floated at an audience that doesn’t exist. Colbert’s brilliant letter perfect mockery of conservatism was impossible to match, let alone top. We’ll probably never see another bradcasting enterprise capable of consistently oozing that volume of cutting sarcasm. It was the perfect show based entirely on the buffoonery of those being ridiculed, and never have victims cooperated more dilligently in the generation of material.
It’s a shame. I like Larry Wilmore.
Mike Yard is national treasure.
I am going to miss the show.
