How often do you sing the alphabet song in your mind?

I used to sing it as an adult to find the order of letters.

Haha, Never. I probably haven’t sung it since I was teaching my daughter about 27 years ago now. lol

I don’t, not “in my mind.” I will maybe sing it out loud if with a toddler.

I had jobs starting in high school that required alphabetizing things, so the order of letters was burned in to my brain.

@RedDeerGuy1 Do you sing that Canadian version that goes “W and X and Y and Zed”?

@zenvelo edit . It’s x , y, and zee. Edit Edit. I don’t know I sing both. Edit It is zee.

Never.
Even now, prompted, I only got to “G”.
I’ll run the alphabet in my mind, but it takes less time to non-sing the letters.

The Alphabet Song is…well, cloying. Treacle.

rarely, there are so many other songs rolling around in my head. Dead Skunk Loudon Wainwright III

I know the alphabet. I am a librarian. It’s a requirement of the job.

Rarely. More common is, “Baa, Baa Black Sheep”, sung to the same tune since there is a field of sheep that live across the road. The lyrics to “Twinke, Twinkle Little Star” also are sung to the same tune.

I recently ran across a video of a guy who was pulled over for weaving while driving. One of the tests given was for him to recite the alphabet backwards. I don’t know how any average person could do that, drunk or sober, without having memorising it or taking a long time.

“I dropped my dolly in the dirt
I asked my dolly if it hurt”
That’s how I determine how much gin goes into my gin and tonic. On really bad days, I add the next two lines

I suppose I could use the Alphabet song instead and go to “P” but that is usually what I do after drinking, not before.

“I’m a little teapot” crosses my radar more often.

Thank the gourd I got over the Shirley Temple tunes.
Animal Crackers
Ship Lollypop
They were an obsession of mine in the 70’s, as a teen.
