Did we get a message today recently from outer space?

Reading the article, it points out that it could be quite a number of things. I wouldn’t put my money on it being a signal from an extraterrestrial species. We have received signals in the past that we got hyped about the possibility of it being aliens only for it to turn out to be a pulsar (a rotating neutron star) or something.

From what I understand, the radio signal has to repeat itself from the same origin point before there’s any evidence of life to be considered.

Doubtful. They got something but they don’t think it is from an intelligent source.

Put away your tin hats. It’ll turn out to be some kind of anomaly.

I’m just waiting for Trump to warn that aliens are planning to bring their murderers and rapists to earth.

My reaction is one of skepticism, but I will wait for the followup. If scientists are convinced that this is an actual signal from aliens, it will be a big news story.
