So, will Fluther be different after 10 a.m tomorrow?
So Fluther will be down for maintenance on Friday, September 2 from 7 – 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
What are they going to do to it? Are they taking requests?

Yep- if the maintenance is successful, the big blue overhead announcement banner should be gone. ;-)
BTW, that’ll be 8 AM Kan’sAss time.
I’m pretty sure it’s Andrew moving us over to the new host. So nothing will visibly change, but it should be faster and less glitchy.
So it will be different – but we won’t necessarily be aware of the differences.
Actually it’ll be 12 PM Kansas time.
As others have said, the differences between this and our new dimension will be very subtle. You may notice a distinct lack of shrimp, but that’s about it.
Hopefully it’ll result in a noticeable reduction of internal server errors.
NO SHRIMP??? I’m leaving!
OK, what time will be be in Kansas tomorrow at 9:00?
If you’re asking about 9 AM in the Pacific Time Zone, it’ll be 11 AM in KS.
Maybe it will get rid of the 500 error messages for good.
What time will it be in Japan?
Rumor has it that instead of Fluther inhabited by spineless drifting ocean creatures we will become peacocks and colorful macaws. New site name will be Fleather.
I hadn’t heard. I’m sure this means I’ll have to figure out my password again.
Sarcasm & banter stays the same
I was hoping for a whole new Fluther that keeps up with the norm…
But what if I’m not in Kansas?
At least you east coasters and mid-west dwellers will get to fluther with your morning coffee, I will not. I will just have to go outside, like I always do anyway, in between fluthering, and watch the birdies in the trees.
Oh no, I will actually have to do some work at work! 7–10 is my prime fluttering period!
I can offer you all some Vegan Shrimp while you wait for it to switch over.
Or you can go enjoy the Independent Day with me while waiting :D
It means 10 to 1 for me on the Right coast, and then hopefully I’ll be either lunching or leaving work early for the 3 day weekend, which means no Fluther until later on for me.
What time is it in your place now? 7:10 p.m here. Fluther is going to shut down at 9:00 p.m in my place and back on at 0:00 a.m. Guess I’m not affected much.
Well….here it comes…nice knowing y’all…is this gonna hurt?
It’s 6:57 AM PST Friday here.
2:16 pm PDT I survived the Fluther shutdown and have been very productive, now I am starving and ready to go get lunch and chill out here for awhile.
Whew! Pain was minimal, no real withdrawal!
—@zenvelo haha, I did forget and try to drop in around 7:30 and then remembered things were down for maintenance. We survived.
I used this opportunity to clean my apartment. Everything is fine just have to sweep and mop.
(is it safe to come out now?)
I cleaned my garage. Still can’t fit the car in, but I can see the floor from end to end!
I have been driving my son to college since 10 am and now home so didn’t miss a thang! Glad to see they fixed the leaky faucet….that “drip” “drip” “drip” was really annoying.
It’s bigger and blacker.
Sorry. We just played the second expansion pack of Cards Against Humanity.
I was so busy at work yesterday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. that I didn’t miss it. Friday before the big Labor Day weekend – there was a jubilant air at work!
I was getting worried yesterday. Last time I checked was at about 3:00 Kansas time (1:00 Pacific time) and we still weren’t up.
But then I went to my 40th class reunion and got, like, drunk, and forgot about it till now.
Now I’m leaving for Phase 2 of our Class Reunion.
See you tomorrow!

I am attending a four day anniversary celebration Hot Jazz Jubilee and this is my first chance to look in. Hubby and I have been married 41 years today.
@YARNLADY: Did you have the staff sanitize your room?
No, I did that myself. I always take Lysol and Clorox wipes with me and wipe everything down. We had a suite with a kitchen (and dishwasher). I washed the dishes before using them.
@YARNLADY: I asked because I remembered that on one thread a long time ago you wrote that you required the hotel staff to go in and do an extra cleaning and sanitize the room. I think it was probably a question about hotel cleanliness or tipping.
@jca Yes, I remember that. We used to stay at hotels that complied with my request, such as Day’s Inn and Vagabond, but now we stay at various Marriott brands and they don’t.
