Anybody know anything about trademark laww?

If I'm starting a new company and want to use an old company's name (it is shown as "dissolved" by the Secretary of State's web page) and I own the web address but the name of the company is still trademarked, can I still use the company name as lomh as my logo or stylized name of the company is completely different? Also, the previous company (which is no longer in business) has a number of expired trademarks for the artistic representation of their company's names; can I reactivate them by applying for the trademark?
