I believe I’ve fixed everything. Let me know something is seriously broken.

I am suspecting something with the search bar, but it may just be my crappy connection. I’ll report back when I’m certain.
Meanwhile, go take some rest, you’ve had a hard day.
Finally… kind of certain. Usually when you type one word at a time on the search bar, a dropdown will appear showing the names that match the words, but right now the dropdown is stuck eternally at “loading”. Even when I delete everything on the search bar the loading still lingers.
Got some ants in my pants but otherwise things look good for now.

New alert! When I was flagging a profile, it led me to the flagging page, and the “last visit”, “joined” and “flag as” were on the page! Even the message and follow buttons. When you are on a flagging page you are not supposed to see them right?

Since yesterday Sep 15/2016 eve. (the mirror is that what you call it?) the Question title area is empty while I’m typing I have asked 3 or 4 questions. It does show up once it’s posted.though.
By the way,a 2 weeks ago someone using a smartphone was saying he doesn’t see the Chat tab. No problem on desk top or laptop.

Got an e-mail this morning that said there were Qs for U and it was a collection of old and odd stuff. When I went over to Fluther, nothing came up.
My question title disappeared before I posted my question.
I only see Questions for You occasionally on the Fluther site, but I did receive an email notification of Questions for You. Wow! I’ve never had that before.
Do we dare ask about long-broken awards like Eeee eeee eeeee, Plank Walker, Skin Diver, Autobiographer, Channel-crosser, Circumnavigator, and Robot Crush?

Is the Circumnavigator award now achievable? If so, do members need to log out and log in again each day in order to obtain it?
There seems to be something wrong with the avatars. @janbb‘s avatar (and the one of another user) has turned into a plain color block. But when I click on her profile it is the penguin.
Andrew, you know how you can store 4 avatars on your profile page? I can upload one from my computer file, but I can’t upload any of the 4 saved avatars, except the last one used. The only choices are latest one uploaded and the one used previous to that. None others will load. Is there something I’m doing wrong, or is there a glitch?
This is something I have reported earlier. When logging through mobile site it opens join me page even after clicking on login link for the first time. After that there’s small login link on join me page which is functional. I think it hasn’t been addressed as yet.
When I visited just now, I had “Activity for you” questions (2), but didn’t notice for a while because the line was not in bold.
I feel like a big complainer, listing all the oddities that have appeared and disappeared over the last few days, but since we’re being asked…
New thing – if I click on Great Answer, I get taken to the top of the page and presented with a blue box which says “Marked great answer… Thanks.”. This is new and a bit annoying because I then have to scroll back down to where I was, to continue reading. Can you turn this feature off?
Also I think that I just got taken back to the top when I clicked on Answer for my response above.
Edit – to confirm that yes, it did take me back to the top. This is new and again a bit annoying.

I agree; I could do without the blue banner butt-in for all circumstances.
I just gave you a GA, but my screen position held.
However, it seems to happen when I give a GA in a thread where the question is being edited.
I can’t ask a question. I type the heading then it does not budge.
I am having the same problem as @LornaLove . I can’t ask a question. I can type it but it will go no further.
I am using a laptop, Dell 610 with Windows XP Professsional POS (Point of Sale. That version is still being updated by Microsoft. Firefox 48.0.2
I tried with Ghostery turned on and off. No difference.
Javascript is turned off and not updated. Flash is turned off.
I can’t ask a question from our laptop. I enter the title, hit continue, then nothing.
@Stinley I notice the “Marked Great Answer… thanks” thing most often when I’m giving a GA on a question that’s closed or extremely old, or if they’re being edited, as @Brian1946 mentioned. I think it’s Fluther’s way of subtly discouraging people from interacting with certain kinds of threads. But I could be wrong.
@dappled_leaves and @Stinley That used to happen sometimes years ago too, I’m not sure in what circumstances. I think what’s happening is that maybe an earlier version of Fluther was loaded on the new servers so some of the upgrades are lost.
@Stinley What you’re seeing is behavior when there is a javascript error on the page—all the dynamic behaviors on the website revert back to old-fashioned page reloads in case anything goes wrong. It could be that you were on a page as the server was being updated, or something screwy happened with your cache. I’m not sure.
I kind of like it. It’s nice to occasionally see the snarky side of Fluther.

I can post a question if I go in through i.fluther.com No luck with fluther.com – it hangs up when I try to continue from the title. The downside is that you can’t proof your question as well through i.fluther.

Not sure if it is just me or something else but I cannot ask a question. When I write it and hit continue, it just sits there doing nothing.
Looks like others are having the same “Unable to post a question” problem.

I’m using Windows XP and Firefox. Are all of you doing the same?

Although I did just post a question with my Android tablet.

I seem to remember in the past that clearing caches helped others when they had intermittent functionality issues
Windows10 and Opera. I used i.fluther to ask a question when fluther wouldn’t let me past setting a title.
Looks like the image below isn’t found. It’s used to mark next to “Activity for you” in the sidebar.

I don’t see what @funkdaddy used to see next to Activity For You I just see a digit in brackets.
@funkdaddy Good catch—our CDN was down an all the images and javascript stopped serving for a little bit.
^ How come the Fluther “Spellcheck” doesn’t recognize words MS Word and online dictionaries does?
@Hypocrisy_Central – pretty sure that’s your browser spell check, you can add words manually and most have some additional extensions you can add if you want a specific dictionary.
@Pachy We’ve been asked if there are any bugs. It’s not being picky to point them out! I’ve worked on a few software projects as client and the developers made me do endless user acceptance testing. They want to know about the bugs :-)
All bugs that are left are on distant Klendathu.
The exclamation point is back in front of Activity for You! I had previously thought the line was in bold! But it turns out that I had remembered it wrong! Emphasis on new content was shown by an exclamation point instead! And is again! Thanks!

I’m on Windows 7 and I go back and forth between Firefox and Explorer.
The banner graphics seem to have disappeared. At least from the Home page.
What’s missing is the series of graphics that appear in rotation in the space to the right of the main logo, like the one with a group of jellyfish floating off to the upper right and the tagline about a trusted collective. It’s there for me on some pages but not others; in fact, right now it seems to come and go on the various pages. In its place there’s just a blank dark blue-green rectangle.
I also see and can slide those graphics.
I’m using Firefox 49.0.1

We (Setanta and I ) can still (again) only create new questions by way of i.fluther.

I seem to have found a bug in the chatroom. No one is in the room but it still displays people’s names.
It won’t let me chat. It records that I’m in the room but when I try to chat it switches to a blank white page that loads eternally.
Chat works for me, but given all the entrances with no chatting, I guess others are having the same trouble.
Yeah, the chat item doesn’t work for me either says I entered the room but won’t let me say anything.
Regarding chat: I’ve just kicked everyone from all of the various chat rooms to see if it fixes itself. Not all of the rooms were logging people out for being idle, so there might have been a bit of an overload. Anyone who was kicked will have to wait 24 hours before they can get back into the chat rooms (assuming the waiting period wasn’t changed when we switched servers), and I can’t even promise that this will work, but I figured it was worth trying something while we wait for Andrew to get back to us.
Regarding questions: A few jellies have reported being able to use the mobile site to ask questions even if they can’t ask questions on the desktop version of the site. I know it’s not ideal, but that might be a workaround for people who access the site both ways until we can fix the bug. We are interested in all reports of not being able to ask questions, so please keep letting us know. But it would also be helpful to tell us whether you are using the mobile version of the site or the desktop version. It looks like the problem is limited to the desktop version, so anyone having trouble asking questions on mobile should really let us know.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but also thank you all very much for your help in tracking down the bugs. Please don’t hesitate to report any problems you see either here or via the contact form.
My bug report above pertains to the desktop version, which is the only one I have. My browser is Firefox 49.0.1.
I don’t know if it’s related to other issues, but for me, (Desktop, Google Chrome) various site graphics have been buggy or nonexistent for days.

I just tried the chat, and it worked for me this time, THANKS.
The graphics bug is the only one I was personally experiencing, and it seems to have cleared up for me. Is anyone else still missing graphics, or has @janbb finally returned them all?

Okay, so I think Ben and/or Andrew may have fixed a bunch of things. Could anyone who was having trouble asking questions or using chat go ahead and ask whatever they were trying to ask or chat about whatever they wanted to chat about? Then, if you experience any problems, please let us know. And if you don’t experience any problems, come back and give Bendrew a big “thank you!” for swooping in and saving us yet again!
I did, it worked and I did.
It looks like one of the servers that serves up javascript and images went down for a bit which is why people were getting problems.
It’s possible that some users may have gotten into a weird state at some point with the javascript on the site (where their browser caches a bad request), so holding down “shift” while refreshing the page on desktop should fix that. I don’t think that’s likely, but it might explain some of the behavior.
Looking back through the logs, questions for you seems to be working correctly since the server migration happened, it’s just that not a lot of matches are happening.

I had that issue last night too, but I only tried from my phone. Android/Chrome. Nothing happened when I hit continue after typing the title. Not sure how to look at a JavaScript console from my phone.
For the last 3 or so days no graphics on explorer and Firefox. Okay on Safari.
When I give someone a GA, I get jump-scrolled to the top of the page, where an annoying blue banner tells me, “Marked great answer…thank you”.
Also, I don’t think I’m getting the preview pane for my unedited answer.

@SQUEEKY2 A few other people have mentioned that question asking isn’t working for them. It’s a bit puzzling as it’s not everyone and we can’t work out what the problem lies with, never mind actually fixing it. A couple of suggestions are switching browser from e.g. Internet explorer to Chrome. Another is refreshing the page in a different way by holding Ctrl and pressing F5 on your keyboard (pc). Switching to the desktop version if using a smartphone or tablet. Or the opposite : use i.fluther.com on your pc. Can you give these a try and let us know if it helps?
And the Question for You still doesn’t work…
@andrew said that it was working but not making many matches. I’m not sure that is right but we don’t have any more information at this time
@Stinley I reloaded the page and switched browsers and it still won’t work, and I use safari and chrome.
My issues seem to have been resolved, at least for now.

Good that there is Explorer because when something is no go with Firefox, there’s Explorer. But Sunday Monday Tuesday, no go with the graphics. But now graphics is back on both, 49.0.2and Explorer 11 and Windows 7.
@JeSuisRickSpringfield and others having probelem posting questions:
If it’s the continue button I have gotton that too on the tablet with Chrome. But if it’s the preview window nothing showing up, then ignore it, and just keep going with posting the question anyway.
I can create a question at least up to the posting point.
I didn’t try to post it because my guess is that it would post, and I don’t want add to whatever clutter there is.
