Damn! Hope you get better soon. Tell us more about your experience when you can.
Nice to hear you’re ok.
My Uncle had a heart attack about a wek and a half ago. We celebrated him getting better by going to an amusement park.
Seriously, we did.
Hey Scamp
Get well soon. We all faith that you will be up and fluthering in no time.
Take it easy
Dear Scamp,
I am terribly sorry to hear that. I am so happy for you that it was mild. Please take care of yourself as you mend. I will send positive thoughts for your recovery every day.
Best,
Marina
Feel better soon please! Take good care of yourself!
Dear Scamp; I am shocked but relieved. A new job, a grandbaby on the way (or here, perhaps), all things good waiting for you. I hope you will consider this a blip on the road to recovery. When you are rested and restored, fill us in. Let us know what we can do to assist you to MEND. (And I hope that the knee is behaving itself. You’ve had a lot to cope with.)
xox,
Gail
Since I don’t know where to send you real flowers I will send virtual ones.
Get well soon.

Darling Scamp, our shield and protector, bright star, smarty pants, who is taking
care of you, honey? Is it someone very, very good at it, who will do the laundry all by
his or herself for awhile? Do we need to come down there and watch over you? You know
we will.
much love, susanc
Bad luck scamp, sorry to hear it but I’m glad you’re okay. Rest up and I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery.

Scamp, I just had to give you lurve for putting “caths are no fun” in topics.
Please get better soon, Scamp! A swift recovery and continued health to you…
Oh my! I am so sorry to hear about this! I was wondering about you, as a matter of fact.
I am also glad that yours was a mild attack, and I wish you all the best in your recovery.
Yes, I was wondering where you were, you are so much a part of here. I was hoping it was becoming a grandparent that was keeping you busy. No, fun what you’re going through, but happy it was minor. Take care. You have a lot to look forward to.
I am sure all these good wishes are going to help you heal. Humbly adding one of my own to the pile.
Thanks to all. I really appreciate all the well wishes. I am back at work today, and trying to get back to normal as best I can. I saw the cardiologist yesterday for a follow up, and things look pretty good. I fired my primary care physician (long story) and will see the new one Tuesday. I am going to ask for a prescription for chantix so I can quit smoking. I was very lucky to get this ‘warning” before something more drastic happened.
Now that you are on the road back, do you feel like telling us how you knew? The warning signs, etc.
Welcome home.
scamp, quiting smoking will probably be the hardest thing you do – i know docs who’ve quit and they say it is way harder than medical school and residency combined. chantix will help, but a support group (like freinds and family) around you, helping you, and trying not to smoke in front of you (as applicable) is going to be very important.
good luck with that
@gail, I didn’t know what was happening. I thought I was stressed out from too much overtime. I was having pains in my chest that radiated up the sides of my neck and into my ears, and felt sick to my stomach, dizzy and weak, so I left work and went to my doctor’s office. He told me my pressure was way up ( 156/110, normal for me is 110/70) he prescribed some medicine and said to come back in 2 weeks. the pains got worse, so I called the nurse line from my job. when I described my symptoms, she said to call 911. My SO took me to the ER, and the rest is history. They admitted me because something was off with my enzymes, and the stress test showed some ischemia so they did the cath.
@drhat77, Thanks. I used chantix once before and it helped, but I couldn’t afford it. Now that I have better insurance, I can quit for good this time.
Way to go scamp! And welcome back!!!
Again, I am glad that your case was mild and that you trusted your instincts.
Thank you for being so open about your experience and sharing it for us to learn from.
I wish you all the best in your battle against nicotine.
Thanks hearkat I’m going to need all the help I can get to quit, but I got a pretty good scare, and a brand new baby coming to give me incentive. Plus chantix is pretty good stuff, so I think I will be able to do it this time, once and for all.
Welcome back scamp!!! You were missed terribly :). Now take care of yourself and no more overworking! Good Luck on quitting smoking too. We believe in you!
Thanks! I am still doing a little overtime, but I am under strict orders from my boss to take frequent breaks, and go home if I get too tired. If I start to feel bad, I will go home. I sure don’t want to go through that again!
Careful with those Chantix, they can bring on depression.
yay scampy is back ! <3 glad you’re better.
Thanks for the warning tiny. I didn’t have that side effect last time I took it. plus, I think another heart attack would be way more depressing!! J/K.. I will keep that in mind and talk to my doctor about it.
Thanks TheHaight .. much lurve to you!!
@Scamp: Relieved to hear you are better. How smart of you to pay attention to your own self and not listen to the doctor who said wait and see for two weeks!
