Best resources to learn about Human Centered Design?

Asked by Jonathan_hodgkins (690points) September 20th, 2016

I am an aspiring Mechanical Design Engineer who is hungry to learn as much as I can about Human Centered Design. Do you have recommendations for books, websites, videos, classes, etc that would help provide a firm foundation in this topic?

Thanks.

Have you heard of Don Norman? He’s pretty well known in certain design-related circles, though admittedly I’m not in those circles, so I’m not sure of their breadth or exact composition. He sort of wrote the book on several user-centered design concepts, and he’s also written several actual books on the subject. The Design of Everyday Things is his most well-known, although there may be another one that better suits your field of interest… not sure! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Norman#Partial_bibliography
