The Tea Party is basically dead. It was a wave that peaked in 2015 and then came quickly crashing down. The candidates it elected to office have become generic Republicans now. It’s biggest legacy is the internal damage it did to the GOP, which in turn paved the way for Donald Trump to become the Republican presidential nominee.
There was no “Tea Party”.
The “Tea Party” is a far-right faction of the Republican party.
Donald Trump is the current “Tea Party” champion.
The Tea Party has been absorbed by the Republicans and the Republicans, in trying to placate the Tea Party, have become the Tea Party.
@Call_Me_Jay I think @RedDeerGuy1 knows that the Tea Party wasn’t a separate party. But they did run their own candidates, even challenging establishment Republicans in various primary elections. So there was a Tea Party. It’s not like they had to exist separately to exist at all. You even admit as much by saying that they exist as a faction of the Republican Party.
There are members in government now that still self identify as Tea Party. They should have their own bathrooms.
I talk to several of them in my city, at least once a month. There should a “Porta Potti” on a trailer following them.
Would you support a Canadian version of a Tea Party candidate?
