What's your favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie?

Asked by MrGrimm888 (19473points) October 2nd, 2016

I don’t think there will ever be another Arnold.

The one liners ,and ridiculous action seem corny to me if it’s anyone but him.

Please don’t say Kindergarten Cop~.....Lol….

Wow… where to go with this?
Terminator 2, maybe, though I think he was terrific in True Lies, Predator, and Total Recall.
He recently made a zombie film that was amazing for the emotional depth Arnold had to show. I think it was called Maggie.

Conan the Barbarian. No contest.

Last Action Hero

@filmfann
Too bad Maggie was boring as sin.

Total Recall. I also love Kindergarten Cop.

Predator closely followed by Commando
The Terminator films got real old, real quick & I could never concentrate on either of the Conan films, because his tits gave me a semi :D

Actually Kindergarten Cop was the best.

All the other movies showed him as a forceful action figure. They were all the same character over and over. Typecasting if ever there was such.

Kindergarten Cop actually showed him as an actor.

It’s naaad ah tumah!

MrGrimm888's avatar

Yes. Total Recall, Predator, Commando. Badass!

@Seek ,I loved Conan too. I think there were two.

Anybody see ,well I think it was called Hercules comes to America, or something?
It stars Arnold, but someone like Charles Bronson is doing his voice over. It’s very odd seeing him lip sync , like an old karate movie…

The first Terminator movie.

Total Recall and Terminator I & II. Some of the few movies I will watch again and again.

Though I Iived through the California governor recall election and I don’t like him as a person. I won’t watch any of his movies which I didn’t see before that.

When I was growing up, I loved in Europe for a few years. There weren’t any English speaking TV networks or anything I understood available (I was being taught German, but wasn’t fluent. )

So , I rented tapes from the local Airforce base and watched them over, and over, and over again.
I couldn’t say how many times I’ve seen some of Arnolds mocies. Maybe hundreds of times…..

You could say he helped raise me Lol… Uncle Arnie ;)

Gosh, this is just like asking which of my dental cavities was my favorite.

I’ll have to give it some thought.

Okay, I’m done thinking about it now.

Seek's avatar

Yeah, but Conan the Destroyer was horrid.

I’m still holding out hope he’ll come back for Conan the King.

ragingloli's avatar

I want him in a live action adaptation of Detective Conan

Seek's avatar

Or a guest role in the live action adaptation of Cerebus the Aardvark.

ucme's avatar

Conan & Ivan Drago star in their own cookery show…I must bake you

ragingloli's avatar

Or in their own Porno. “I must rape you”

ucme's avatar

He-Man would be awfully jealous

Well they’re different enough that I can’t call one a favorite.

I like Conan 1, Terminator 1 & 2, Predator 1, True Lies, probably more than the others.

I haven’t seen Kindergarten Cop, or the one where he gets pregnant, but I hope the worst one is Hercules in New York – gawd that’s painful.

BellaB's avatar

Kindergarten Cop is the only one where he’s actually sort of acting. I like it.

His other stuff? nope. Haven’t made it all the way through any of his other movies. My eyes start to hurt from the rolling.

imrainmaker's avatar

Terminator movies and yes Predator is also my favourite.

MrGrimm888's avatar

Someone mentioned Junior. Ha! I forgot Arnold was pregnant.

That got me thinking about Twins.

Did we just have lower standards in the 80’s and 90’s?

Seek's avatar

Harmless fun was an actual thing in the 80s and 90s.

It’s kind of sad that we don’t have that much anymore. I have been looking high and low for VHS tapes of the silly family movies I used to watch as a kid, to pepper between episodes of The Walking Dead, so not everything my kid watches is either death or Pokémon.

Mine is “Conan The Barbarian”, but I also like “Pumping Iron” that is a documentary on the 1975 Mr. Olympia contest that Arnold won for the sixth time in a row, but I do not think he deserved all of his wins. In 1970, Sergio “The Myth” Olivia has my vote over Arnold. In his final attempt, Arnold was afr from his peak, so Lou Ferrigno and Mike Katz should have beaten him.
