Are ”likes" and laughs on YouTube so important as to risk injury?
It seems some items on YouTube that could be avoided are allowed to play out because they would be good for generating laughs or ”likes”. Now I know some people might think it is a toy car and not moving very fast but is that still any justification to seeing what will happen but letting the kid get ran over? What if it would have hit just right for causing some injury, even if a bad scrape, is the potential ’like” worth that? Or the embarrassment they kid might be exposed to way in the future because of it, since nothing on the web ever truly dies?

Youtube pays money. Sometimes, yes, it is worth it. Especially if it leads to bigger and better things.
Johnny Knoxville, of Jackass fame, has a net worth of $75 million. How many scrapes might you take for a cool $5 million per film appearance?
You Tube is the modern version of “America’s Home Videos”, just without Bob Saget introducing it. 25 years ago that would have been in the running for $100 dollars and probably shown as they exited to each commercial.

He did those things on his own by his own will, not someone filming him having something negative happen to him when they could have prevented it, and certainly not his parents. If the boy was in on the joke it might be different, but I don’t think he signed up to be ran over by his sister for the laughs of people he would never meet or his own parents.
@Hypocrisy_Central .
Knoxville is kind of messed up mentally. He likes hurting himself, and would do it with or without pay. I’ve been a huge fan and over time realized his sickness.
But yes, the payoff has been substantial. Not just for him.
Some people make money putting kitten videos on u-tube.
Some girls do Web cam porn.
It’s just a easy source of revenue.
@Hypocrisy_Central are you speaking strictly of CHILDREN being put out on YouTube and put at risk of injury?
YouTube has really become odd I feel. I don’t agree where people make videos place themselves at risk whilst doing so just to get likes. Then there are the videos where people challenge each other to do weird things, which certainly can result in injury. One guy set fire to himself. I watched a video the other day of a girl claiming to be kidnapped, she clearly did it for the views, if you go on her past videos which all had attention seeking titles.
I don’t think she cares either that people are calling her out, since she is getting huge views and making huge money.
I chanced upon a number of so-called breastfeeding videos, which I thought would be advice to young mothers nursing. I can tell you that certainly, not one young mother was getting help there!
This particular mother was ‘nursing’ her twins around age two in a field, naked and with a goat licking at her and a horse nearby. It seems those videos are quite popular now!
