What Clinton meant by “deplorables” was those people who are White Supremacists, racists, sexists, or anti-government.
She was wrong in saying they account for half his voters, but she was right that those voters are overwhelmingly pro-Trump.
@filmfann But my question is
When he said ““I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters”” what did he say in other words? That his supporters have no scruples, they are deplorable.
I agree Clinton was wrong in saying white Supremacists, racists, sexists, or anti-government people account for half his voters
It’s more like 70%.
The Republicans have been actively courting racist whites since 1968 and the Southern Strategy.
And with stories like Reagan’s “welfare queen”, they have been promoting racism as a conservative virtue.
And all the racists the misogynists anti-government people would be for Trump, I don’t think it’s just overwhelming number. I can’t imagine any of them voting for the other 3 candidates, and definitely not for Clinton.
@flo I think Trump was saying his supporters are that rabid committed.
@filmfann I agree, that’s what he meant to say, just like when he said “That [she¨] wouldn’t be my first choice”, I guess he meant to say that he couldn’t have groped her because he is not a groping kind person. But he ended up telling the world that he only gropes good looking women.
I believe he meant conservative voters could never vote Hillary because of her stance on issues that we can never support. Like late term abortion for instance.
So I guess it’s ok to shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue as long as you are Pro-life??
hmmmm, “Pro-life” is a relativistic term then, isn’t it?
