I mean in just the little section that covers 2016, if course. Which name will kids have to learn in history class decades from now?
Donald Trump
Hillary Clinton
Ivanka Trump
Bill Clinton
Michelle Obama
Vladimir Putin
Anthony Weiner
[other]
This assumes that it isn’t all made moot by, say, Kim Jong-Un in the meantime.

I’m thinking general Americo-centric history, highlighting 2016 published in like 2050. Clinton already has a lock on that for 2016. Trump is a clown and won’t be elected. Clowns like Trump and Weiner get anecdotal references. I mean, who remembers Jay Gould or Albert Fall? Wives get little mention. There will be a reference to Bill as Hillary’s husband and as former president. If Kim Jung-Un does something really stupid and spectacular, he’ll climb up the chart. But I think number two will be Putin.
Comey will be left in the dust of history before the end of November.
I think if Hillary wins, and I believe she will, Trump will be barely a blip on the history book page regarding his run for president.
Hillary goes down in history as president, the first woman president, and then whatever she does while president.
Unless Trump wins of course. If he wins he gets historical mention depending on what he does while in office. Hillary still gets mention as the first woman to win the primary. I think she would be remembered more for some things she did while sec’y of state.
If it is K-12 I doubt anything but Trump ran is mentioned. They generally try to be a American wankfest. I doubt the sixth-graders are going to read about grabbing them by the pussies.
The winner of the election will get top billing simply because he or she goes on the lists of Presidents.
None of the above
The shame that so many american voters were not only prepared to put Trump in the white house, but were absolutely determined & committed to their cause.
So yeah, what should be remembered is just that…Shame
Totally agree with ya ^^^^^^ on that one @ucme .
Trump should be remembered if only as a warning for the future.
@johnpowell ” I doubt the sixth-graders are going to read about grabbing them by the pussies.” They might if President Trump comes to visit their school. I know I’d want my child’s teacher (If I had a child) to warn the girls to keep their distance and watch out for any sudden movement.
I’m sat watching Trump speaking live from Miami.
He’s wearing a huge white cap that says Make America Great Again
Just a quick point, we have always been Great Britain
I believe and hope the next president Hillary Clinton.
I wish I’d had a chance to vote for Joe Biden. I think he’s the only one out of this year’s entire crop that I could have felt enthusiastic about.
@Jeruba He’s so weird about women, though.
This has been an historic election and I think that both Trump and Clinton will be remembered, regardless of who gets elected. Clinton has certainly made her mark already as the first female candidate of a major party. Trump is noteworthy for his crudeness and lack of backing from the rest of the party. He has the enthusiastic support of a fair share of the country and he has managed to split the Republican party. This election is also noteworthy in that the two candidates rank as having the two highest disapproval ratings.
