Do you consider the CIA comparable to the KGB?

Are both secretive organizations that used similar means to obtain similar goals?

They are both responsible for the external security and international interests of their nations.

By the way, the failed coup of 1991 ended the KGB which as a result was reorganised and split into two separate agencies: the secret police agency FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation responsible for internal security like our FBI) and the espionage agency SVR (Foreign Intelligence Service).
