Hi, I’m not American and I just want to know what were your reasons now that he has won.

Don’t expect too many answers here…3 at the most.

Obamacare is a disaster and Trump made repealing it his centerpiece campaign promise.
My income taxes went up 6% under Obama and Hillary promised to raise them even more…Trump promised he would lower them. No brainer there.
Clinton was just all around untrustworthy. Had she owned up to her server BS and Foundation shenanigans, I think she had a better chance of getting more conservative and independent votes mine included….but she failed to even scratch the surface of doubt WikiLeaks created for her.

My wife called Trump a disgusting man and though I truly agree with her reasons for her feelings, I feel his smarmey behaviors were not enough to rise to the level of Clintons misdeeds and again her untrustworthiness.

Trump is a very smart man, smart enough to beat every Republican opponent…all 16 of them, win the election with near zero support from his own party and the entire media working to take him down. A stunning achievement in itself and proof enough to me he will actually do some positive things for our country.

I did not vote for him, but this is how he got voted into office.

”.....George Orwell, the most fearless of commentators, was right to point out that public opinion is no more innately wise than humans are innately kind. People can behave foolishly, recklessly, self-destructively in the aggregate just as they can individually. Sometimes all they require is a leader of cunning, a demagogue who reads the waves of resentment and rides them to a popular victory. “The point is that the relative freedom which we enjoy depends of public opinion,” Orwell wrote in his essay “Freedom of the Park.” “The law is no protection. Governments make laws, but whether they are carried out, and how the police behave, depends on the general temper in the country. If large numbers of people are interested in freedom of speech, there will be freedom of speech, even if the law forbids it; if public opinion is sluggish, inconvenient minorities will be persecuted, even if laws exist to protect them.”

The only good I saw voting for him, the gambit that he would get some picks to the High Court, and choose some to redacted; still feel icky I had no better choice to vote for.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe that who one voted for is personal business that one keeps to one’s self.

In the same way one does not reveal to others what one’s salary is.

I heard an interesting comment from a journalist who said that the Trump supporters didn’t take what he said leterally but they took what he meant seriously. The media, politicians, lefty liberals took what he said literally and didn’t take him seriously.

That was Waleed Aly I think @Stinley. I was watching his piece-to-camera this evening.

@SecondHandStoke: As with anything else, people have the option of not answering or of saying “this is personal and I care not to discuss it.” Many people will answer with their reasoning about why they voted for Trump (here and other places) and many people have no problem talking about their salaries. Just like the Trump question, if people don’t want to talk about what they make, they always have that option. Nothing is mandatory.

@Stinley I heard the same statement mentioned on Morning Joe this morning…and totally agree with it.

ObamaCare, regulation, taxes, and immigration are all issues that I care about and agree with Trump on them. I don’t necessarily like him in that I don’t want to sit down and have a beer with him but I don’t want to have a beer with Hillary (or Obama for that matter) either. I’m not concerned about their personality quirks but rather what I think they would (or have) done for or too the country. If we can get the economy growing again, most of the other problems become easier to fix. I believe Trump will get us growing and Hillary would leave us stagnating. It was an easy choice.

I am a woman but I do not think any woman is as capable of running
this country as a man would be. Just like I do not believe in women
being preachers. Are men superior in my book….no just my very own
opinion. Our family unity would be much stronger if women stayed at
home and raised the children while the men took the jobs. Much
stronger family unit and not as many workplace romances!

There it is.

@MooCows Wow! Just Wow! I’m going to guess that you are just joking to get our goat. If not, I have no words.

@MooCows DANG I only have ONE Atta boy to give for that, it deserves far, far more.

The concept of things being equal in importance but different in function escapes you? The PC you use have hardware and software, they are both equally important to use it for any useful work, shopping, etc. but they are not identical or have identical function, if you had all hardware and no software you would have a lot of glorified paperweights with a plug attached, or if you had all software you would have fancy, durable drink coasters or mini flying disc, but you’d never read any information off of them.

Not all women want to be housewives. It’s fine for the ones who do, but many of us don’t.

I’m not getting into this again with you here for everybody’s sanity. Let’s end this conversation now, I shouldn’t have even posted my first comment.

I will shed no tears, someone made a statement, looking at the preponderance of the evidence, I think they are more spot on than many today, both male and female, bygones…..

I am not an American, so I do not vote, but many of my American friends voted for Trump and more against Hillary.
