How would a first world country have a civil war or revolution?
You would think that you would need the military’s or police’s help? Is it possible or just unlikely?

Germany was chaotic in the 1920s and then effectively had a revolution in 1933. The police were complicit in allowing the Nazi to have armed militias, the SA and the SS. I don’t know if that was support or just inability to keep order.
The military was happy to go along. After WWI the allies reduced Germany to a small military and Hitler promised an immense military buildup to Make Germany Great Again.
Of course it is possible.
It would most likely require the support of the military, more than the police. The police don’t have the fire power or air power that the military have.
What makes you think revolution and a civil war is something only for the non-first world countries? It can happen anywhere. You just need a shitty government and an angry mob. Being rich and developed does not make you immune.
Ain’t nothing civil about a war.
Nearly all first world nations have representative government. If you don’t like those in power, vote them out. There is no need for revolution.
Civil war is waging right now.
On the Internet.
Ooh I dunno, elect a viciously hated leader & wait for the manure to strike the extractor?
Soviet Union, 1991. A well documented modern revolution in an industrial civilization.
