Does poached salmon tastes like trout to you?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) November 23rd, 2016

I’ve had both this month and I can’t tell the difference. Just that trout is half as expensive as Atlantic Salmon and a little bit smaller.

Do you mean ‘poached’?

I often buy smoked trout instead of smoked salmon, because the taste is, indeed, very similar, and the trout is a lot cheaper. Anyway, trout is a very close relative to salmon (it’s a salmonid).

Salmon are kind of giant trout. They’re both in the Salmonidae family
