Will I lose one account of Kaspersky if I reset my PC?
I need to reset my PC so Windows 10 can reinstall because it’s being a bitch.
I have Kaspersky anti-virus, and I realized that when I bought it, the box said it’s good for 3 computers. I used it on my computer and my mom used it on hers, leaving one extra. Obviously Kaspersky will be removed when I reinstall Windows 10, but does that mean when I reinstall Kaspersky on my computer that I will lose that extra account and it’ll be like I used up all 3?

It should still be the same comp, regardless of its operating system.
I think its IP identity stays the same (unless it’s dynamic), and that’s usually what identifies a comp.
Try running ipconfig
, and see if it changes during the next day or so.
If it changes, then it’s a dynamic IP, but it seems that W 10 would account for that.
If you have a backup copy of Kaspersky, reload it from that copy’s device after the update.
Can you deregister the current copy of Kaspersky before reinstalling Windows 10? If you can, then you should be able to use the same registration key to reinstall Kaspersky without changing how many uses you have used up.
^^ was going to suggest same thing.. check it out and let’s know if it works for ya..
When this happened to me, I had so much trouble with the tech wonks at Kaspersky I just got rid of Kaspersky completely.
I’ve been working with the stock Windows Defender and running the free version of Malwarebytes occasionally. Have not had a bit of trouble.
One thing I will mention…and also note I say this without trolling or being “one of those” Kaspersky may be touted as being the hottest thing in “protection” it is a Russian firm…and there has been a bunch…you get the gist…
