How do I find out if I would like being a refrerence librarian?

Well, you can ask to shadow one at the library and observe what they do but I hope you realize that being a reference librarian requires both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree first.

Why would you want to be a reference librarian? What specifically appeals to you about that job?
