Should I adjust my storm door?

I finally got my storm door installed. I’m so excited! It’s kind of fancy. It’s glass, and the upper portion slides down and reveals a screen. Jellies helped me decide to get this door, rather than a typical screen door, and I’m very happy with the decision.
Here’s the thing. The installer had me but an extra part (just a few dollars) that makes it fit just perfectly. It’s so perfect, air gets trapped between the door and the storm door and it makes it a little difficult to close. The door (whichever is ajar last) needs an extra push to make it catch and shut well.
Do you think there is any problem with needing the push? Should there be a mini bit of space for air to escape?

All our very high end doors need this extra “push” to seal properly. Not to say you should accept this reality…if anything this hinky quality forces you to shut the door to complete the seal on the door. If you do this….all is good.
Just to add all out Anderson doors are 10 years old and I am sure they worked much more smoothly 10 years ago.
Call the installer. Have them trouble shoot it. I help install doors and windows part time. There may be a way to get it to do what you want.
Maybe some sort of laxative is in order
That extra push gives you a tight seal. You want that for energy efficiency.
If you adjusted the closer, the piston-like device attached to the door and casing, to do it you would be fighting against it every time you opened the door.
As the seal gets old and takes a set it will likely get easier for the door to close.
Call the installer anyway to put your mind at ease, but it seems like he already did a great job. That is exactly how I’d like my doors to close.
That extra push is the reassurance you need that the storm door is doing its job. I would leave well alone unless it is particularly troublesome.
Don’t. Part of the resistance you are feeling is because it is new. As it ages and the parts get a little worn in, the resistance will be reduced. Don’t mess with it now, because you’ll just have to tighten it a little later.
