[Fluff time] What is your pick for the top three non-food items to have in the kitchen?
If there are three must have things that make a kitchen truly useful, such as a can opener, crockpot, 9” sauté skillet, etc. what would yours be?

A sink with running water.
A clean, flat surface.
A refrigerator.
Besides the above, all givens, I couldn’t do without a stove and/or toaster oven, my Foreman grill, and my programmable crock pot.
Second choices: a good set of knives, oven mitts, frying pan and can opener.
Toaster oven.
Water supply (sink)
Refrigerator
(knives are pretty important too.)
Chef
Wife free zone
Fire exit
My wife
A sturdy counter
And free time
My girlfriend
An oven
And that’s everything apart from the kitchen sink.
Do Twinkies count as a non-food item? What about celery? Jalapeno Cheetos?
A Bunn Coffee maker, a set of Chicago Cutlery and a Bosch dishwasher
The sink and major appliances are intrinsic to the kitchen and already in place, so I’m going to list my own additions:
Toaster
Tea kettle
A small selection of excellent knives
A trash can, a can opener and a cup.
garbage can (for wet stuff. A trash can is for dry stuff.)
cupboards
cutting board
(Aside from the other essentials mentioned above.)
A 12 inch cast iron skillet.
A coffee bean grinder.
A two quart sauce pan with lid.
One perfect knife.
Wooden cutting board.
Heavy skillet with venting lid.

I thought that too, just as a roof is to a house and the plugs are to the living room, but this is Fluther……and….well….
electric kettle
Swingaway can opener
heavy aluminum garlic press
